Compressor Comparison Video Offered Online05/22/2008Carlyle has published a video presentation explaining the difference between "remanufactured" and "rebuilt" compressors. The eight-minute video is viewable online via the Carlyle and Carlyle Certified Refrigeration Partners websites (www.carlylecompressor.com and www.carlyleccrp.com , respectively). The video details the process whereby Genuine Carlyle remanufactured compressors are broken down to their smallest components and fully reconstructed to current OEM specifications employing the latest technological advances. With remanufactured compressors, any damaged or worn parts are discarded and replaced with new ones. The video explains that "rebuilt" compressors, on the other hand, typically reuse any functional parts even if they may be sub-par. The video also cites the UL seal of approval as a method of comparing compressors. All Genuine Carlyle remanufactured compressors are produced to these internationally recognized safety standards. In contrast, the video demonstrates that few rebuilt compressors meet UL safety levels, thus risking code violations and potentially invalidating the original UL listing for the entire system.
